Hello to YOU,
Today I’m thrilled to share all the stunning details from JTBC bride Katie’s wedding day. Katie’s wedding took place back in May within the elegant grounds of one of my favourite Cumbrian wedding venues, Askham Hall.
Katie chose a stunning square neckline, fit and flare gown by British bridal designer Sassi Holford, and a pearl and crystal embellished full-length veil by The Couture Veil. Read on for more about Katie’s wedding day, her ‘Yes’ to the dress moment, and indulge in the wonderful images by Rachel Hayton Photography…

How did you meet and the proposal?
We met on a dating app called Happn which matches you with people based on your location. Turns out we were both at a Liverpool away football match at Crystal Palace…oh the romance!! Louis proposed to me on Christmas Day morning on a very wet walk in Langdale.

Tell me about your wedding day.
It was a magical day made special by all our friends and family in the beautiful venue and setting of Askham Hall. The sun was shining which meant we were able to have our wedding ceremony outside. The styling for our wedding day was simple and chic, which complimented our outdoor wedding and the venue perfectly.

What is your most memorable moment of your wedding day?
Watching our little boy Charlie run down the aisle following our vows. Also the speeches and taking a moment to see friends and family enjoying the day.

Tell me about your experience at JTBC and the moment you found the dress.
I couldn’t have wished for a more exceptional and personalised experience. My journey with Julia began in 2019 and after a second appointment, I said “yes” to the dress. Initially planning for a 2020 wedding, the pandemic forced us to reschedule for May 2023. Given the extra time and upon returning to Julia Tasker Bridal Couture I was curious to see what new styles had arrived. I was excited to hear that Julia was holding Sassi Holford trunk day at the boutique and I had seen a dress that I really wanted to try, coincidentally named ‘Katie’. I loved the ‘Katie’ dress from the Sassi Holford Collection and said ‘YES’ to the dress for the second time. Julia was amazing at accommodating all of my concerns and ideas regarding my dress choices and her attention to detail is second to none. I felt very sad leaving the boutique following my last appointment. I loved having Julia Tasker Bridal Couture as part of my wedding journey. On my wedding day, I felt like a Princess!

What advice would give to others when planning their wedding?
My top tip is to create some kind of planner to keep track of and help organise your wedding day. I also made an itinerary for my bridesmaids in the morning. It definitely helped to have some kind of plan, so that everyone knew where they needed to be and when. It made the morning a lot more relaxed and enjoyable.
